Dune, My book of Poetry. Iron Man. Dune. and ZOMBIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys. It has been about a week since I last updated and not much has gone on. I started reading Dune, its my second attempt and I have to say I am enjoying far more this second try. I am very fascinated by the lore of the universe. I am about half way through and have decided to continue reading the series as soon as I have finished the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

In other news my new colection of poetry is getting larger. I have about fifty or so poems that I could pile into one book, and I am hoping to get about thirty more before it is published. The realease should be mid to late september of this year.

As promised I will now turn my eye to all that is gruesome, gory and glorious. Zombies. I love Zombie films, and I am not picky in the least whether or not it is campy/funny/grossout grindhouse or semi-serious campy social comentary. I would like to talk about a comic of the social comentary variety. The Walking Dead is a fantastic book with gorgeous art and some very dark messages about the nature of man. I have only read two of the trade paper back editions of the books, but what I have read is awesome. It is about a group of survivors who are thrown into a world turned upside-down in a terrible zombie apocolypse. They are led by a cop who goes into a coma and wakes up to find what else? Zombies. Lots of them. I wont give any more of the plot abway because it is realy fantastic. The art is somewhat oldschool. Men with square jaws, women with defined lips. it is very reminiscent of great forties comic book art, IMHO.

Shortly after this post was originaly written I was informed I was going to the Iron Man movie, and despite how that sounds I was insanely excited to go. I have one word for this movie. Okay, maybe four. BEST FRACKING COMIC MOVIE (in recent years). Casting was awesome. The story was right out of a first issue of the comic. That being said, this was a first issue. LOTS of set up. In fact it even got to a point where it felt in drug on to long but all I can say is that what it was leading into was amazing. I havent seen anything so visually stunning. The Iron Man suit is fantastic, and it looks so real. I dont know it really was great. And Avengers fans... stay after the credits. I just have to say if you needed any more proof that Samuel L. Jackson is in everything and might be god, you need to stay after the credits.

So I will try to keep things updated more often and I woul love to hear your opinion on Iron Man, Doctor Who, Dune or anything on your minds.

Bill.

I will try to keep you updated on my book if any of you care.

Bill

Dr. Who and Torchwood

Hey guys,

This is my blog, in which I will talk about all my nerdy obsessions including zombie gorefests, comicbooks of all kinds, videogames, fantasy and science fiction entertainment and whatever else I feel like. How about some science fiction?

Torchwood, my beloved Torchwood. You promised tragedy on an epic scale, and you delivered it mercilessly. Owen was just starting to get interesting. The origin story kind of made me forget he was a womanizing self absorbed pig. Kind of. And now he gets melted by radiation? Come on I know he is a wanker but does he really deserve to be melted slowly. I have to say Tosh's death was so sad. She was, in this season, just beginning to break out of the stereotypical "nerdy quiet girl" thing and revealed a surprisingly confident woman. While I am annoyed with some of Torchwood's... gaps in story telling this season was absolutely fabulous. Janto is so cute. I love them together. Even Gwen is growing on me in a strange naive-annoying sort of way.

I am a huge Dr. Who fan. I have not been watching the series for long, about six months, but I cant get enough of it. The current Doctor is adorable in a weird way, and the stories are awesome, campy and well written. I don't have much to say on the matter just that I recommend it to anyone who loves Torchwood. I have a clip that didn't make it onto the American broadcast, and one that did, and both are amazing. If you don't know the context then you haven't seen series 3s finale. I wont go into it but it makes a horrible situation kind of funny.

So there you have it. I have a very sick sense of humor, portrayed in my name (which is nifty for its ability to point out my sexuality and my love of zombies.)

Hoping to gobble your brains soon.
